You are not home and your battery decreases quickly? Here's how to make it last a few precious minutes.
If the most recent iPhone offer a "power save" mode when the battery is around 20% of battery life, this is not the case of the older smartphone. Some relief tips can save time waiting to charge your device.
1) Reduce the light intensity
The brighter your screen, the stronger it consumes battery. Hence the importance of ensuring its intensity when the autonomy percentages are dwindling.
On an iPhone: Go to "Settings," then "Brightness and display." Adjust to a minimum.
On Android: do the same to "Settings" then "View" and "Brightness". Uncheck the "Automatic brightness" option to lower the minimum.
2) Remove the vibrator
The vibrator is set by default on your device and is activated with your ringtone or silent? Contrary to popular belief, it consumes more battery than the ring because it must generate vibrations. You can disable it.
On iPhone: Go to "Settings" then "Sounds". Uncheck the options "with buzzer ringing" and "silent vibrator."
Android: go to "Settings" then "Sounds & Notifications" and uncheck "Vibrations" (or "Vibrate also calls")
3) Turn off notifications
Newspapers, mail, social networks ... You receive an alert or a "push" for many of your applications during the day? Your battery is heavily used. You can delete these messages.
On iPhone: Go to "Settings" then "Notifications." The list of applications appears, check each if they are allowed or not.
Android: go to "Settings" then "Sounds & Notifications" then "app notifications". The list of applications appears, pressing one of them, you can choose to block it. According to the versions of Android, you can also "Settings," "Applications," "All Applications". The list appears you can uncheck "Show Notifications" for each of them.
4) Disable Internet connections
Wifi, 3G, 4G ... Cut internet will save the battery. You will avoid including automatic meter reading your emails and geolocation applications based on the available network.
On Iphone: for wifi, go to "Settings" and then "Wireless" and disable. For 3G or 4G is also in "Settings" then "Cellular Data". Uncheck.
On Android: doing the same in your connection settings. Remember to turn off the Bluetooth in these settings.
5) Set the sleep time
Between uses, phone usually goes to sleep automatically. This time is variable (from 15 seconds to 5 minutes) but the longer it is, the higher your screen consumes the battery to remain on. A little checking into your options is required.
On Iphone: in "Settings," then "General" and "Auto-Lock".
On Android: "Settings", go to "View" then "Start screen saver" and choose the shortest duration.
